Whatever Lola Wants

My old timey chum Dan Blank directed a short film/music video for the Satin Dollz. They're a troupe of vintage pin up dancers in the Los Angeles area. They really are like live action pin up art in this video. Between the vignettes and the costuming Dan Really hit it home.

Dan produced it for less than $2,000 on a DSLR and did most of the visual effects himself. You should check out the "making of" as well. You'd be surprised by how much green screen there is. And the whole thing is shot in slow motion which really blows my mind.

Oh, and if you were thinking that the silhouette in the title card looks like my drawing, yup I did give him a hand with it.

Wow, that's amazing! Can't believe he produced it for that small price, it looks super expensive!

Subject: Exhibition Proposition!

Dearest Bill,

I'm writing you in a blog comment because i can't manage to find your email adress, so if you want to delete this message so it keeps a bit secret, i invite you to do so :)

It's been a loooong time (since Rex Steele) i've been admiring your artwork as an artist too, and i was so happy to watch your interview at Bobby Chiu's!
I "doodle" some pin ups too, maybe you have crossed it once on the net : http://pinup-doodles.blogspot.com ;)
(and i was in the same exhibition as you for Skydoll Tribute in Paris)

I've been named ambassadress of an exhibition in Montreal and Paris for LaGallery and...guess what...It's all about Pin-Ups! An Hommage to vintage pin-ups. This can't happen without you, i thought !
We have invited a lot of artists that already said yes,
such as J.Guarnido, Dean Yeagle, Baron Von Lind, Serge Birault, Fernando Vicente, Aslan, Craig Eliott, and many many others.

If you are interested by the project, please contact me at: maly.pinupart@gmail.com
I'll give you the informations such as delay, etc

Thank you so much for your attention Bill!

Regards and all my admiration again,

Maly
