I HAVE BOOKS!!
Okay, so I've been holding out on you guys. I was planning to build the suspense a little, but heck, the books arrived today a week ahead of schedule and I couldn't resist.
I think I've been working on this book for the better part of 2 years, so you can imagine the kind of thrill it is for me to see them fully realized. It's quite addictive in fact, makes me want to make all sorts of books.
Anyway, as you can probably tell, it's a book of cheesecake/pin-up art type drawings and paintings. A "best of" compilation spanning 10 years to be exact. I'll be at the San Diego Comicon this year doing my best to sell them.

Looks great Bill. Cant wait to get a closer look.
Sweet Bill. But I still need some babes and giant robots.... ooh. maybe i'll get some in this here book.
Ok you should have just taken pictures of you unpacking a grenade and pulling out the pin because that's what it's going to feel like for the rest of us.
Congrats Bill!
Shame I won't be at comicon this year but will make sure to get my hand on one.
Can I ask you where did you get those printed Bill?
I'd love to put a book together but have no idea where to get it printed and yours look fab.
Thanks a lot.
Bill,
I am going to the convention, and you now 'possess' one of my must-haves at SDCC 2007.
Although I wish I had someway of getting it before San Diego, as I'm just dying to see what's inside!!!
Plans for the price?

Obviously these will sell better than hotcakes, Looks like a real treat Mr. Presing!
Holy crap! Looks amazing. Are you going to be selling these online at all for us folks that can't make it to the con and who are now heaping messes of drooling goo after seeing the book?
Ooooooh, cheeeesecake. They look gorgeous, Bill! I'll have to have someone get one for me.
GASP!!! Yes! Now I REALLY can't wait for San Diego! Looks GREAT Bill!
MMmmmm that looks real yummy..I love your cheescake Bill..See you in San Diego!!
Looks like a must have! Hope you made enough of them for all of us :)
I won't be at the Con, but may I order one directly from you? Signed perhaps?
....and what of on-line sales for those of us not hitting the con?
Hey Bill,
Do you have your booth number yet, i would like to know where you are going to be selling your book.
Cheers,
Mario
How can I get a copy if I can't make it to SD? Must...have...
count me as an online buyer as well...Sweet goodness!
The book is going to sell for $25. It's a 96 page hardcover full color throughout. I'm also planning to do a limited edition version, which is the same book but with a watercolor drawing attached as a book plate. I haven't figured out how many yet, or how much it'll cost.
Shortly after con I'll be setting up a shop on the blog to sell them over the internet. So they will be nice and available to anyone who doesn't make it to San Diego.
As far as my booth #, I need to double check. I'm splitting with some friends and I'm not sure at the moment which of two table I'll be at. I'll make a post with my location soon.

Got's to get me one of these. What's your table number Bill ?
Hi, Bill.
I have to say that I like the style of the artwork I saw in those pics you took. But I have a question to ask you - how did you publish them? I'm kinda curious.

"Doing you're best to sell them"?
I think it should be pretty easy. They look darn swell, sir!
I'll stand in line for one!
WOW! Awesome, can't wait to get my hands on these. Congrats!
Huge fan. If I make it to SDCC I will definitely pick it up.
BILL! Jeff brought the book home from work and let me tell ya...ya cook a FINE Cheesecake! DELISH!
Seriously YUMMY! Can't wait to see ya swarmed at Comic-Con! We'll be there hawking Jeff's toy (and maybe...we can stash some your books there too!!).
So excited for ya! You GENIUS, you!
You've seriously made my day! Looks fantastic and I'm glad you took your time and compiled it like this.
Oh yeah, one of these will be mine.
Bill, Jeff Pidgeon and I will be rockin' it at booth 4800, on the left hand side of the con floor, near the door, kiddie-corner from Mignola and a couple aisles over from Stuart Ng.
Bill's book will be a MUST HAVE for anyone at the con. Buy two so you can give one to a friend who will attempt to kill you because they missed out on getting one in person. Plus, you can grab Jeff's new TOY and my books, THE ANCIENT BOOK OF MYTH AND WAR and SCRAP METTLE!
Fantastic stuff Bill, love it! Congrats on it's completion!
This looks fantastic! This will truly be a must have at the show. Congrats on getting such a nice book together!
Yes! booth 4800. What Scott said.
AWESOME! So glad you'll be at our booth too! That makes us the coolest one! (IMO! HA! HA! :-) I'll get to hawk your books after all! YAY!
See you at 'Con!
Awww I can't make it to San Diego! Will you be selling these anywhere else? :(
Looks great! Hope to see the book at the con!
Stef,
I got the book printed in China by a company called Global PSD, they did a great job I'm very happy with them. They have local offices in San Rafael and New York so they are very convenient to deal with.
Kamui.EXE,
Publishing basically boils down to hiring a printer to print your book. But I guess it starts with making the content. I personally laid all my pages out in photoshop, then imported them into "In Design" (which is essentially a book layout program). Then I exported the whole thing as a pdf which was sent to the printer to print the book from.
If you plan to get your book distributed you're going to need a bar code and an isbn #. You can get that stuff here.
Lauren,
I'm sure I'll be selling my book at APE and Wondercon (both in San Fran) next year. I havn't yet figured out how wide a distribution (if any) I'm going to get. Maybe you can very politely ask Matt Peters to be my east coast pimp. I could send him a box and he could sell them to all you New York guys for me.
Maybe.
Thanks Bill! Maybe if I lure him in with some Superman comics he'll agree to do it ha ha ha
Wow Bill . Very gracious of you to share the info on printing.I will now buy 1 and one half books from you in San Diego.Looking forward to it.
Can't...talk....too much...drooling....!
hey Bill,
Congrats! The books look amazing. I can't make it to the Con, but count me in to get one after for sure.
Sorry that I took so long to get back to what you said, Bill. (Got my head stuck in yet another bunch of art projects! Lol!) But anyways, thanks for the info! Although I do have one more question for you if you don't mind. The link you gave me, does it just work for American books or can it also be applied to Canadian ones as well? (Yeah... I come from Canada... from a really small city).
Thanks for your help! ^^
Kamui.EXE,
I'm afraid that I do not know if it's U.S. only. Sorry about that. You might have to do some digging.
Thanks anyways, Bill.
Well... good luck at the Con!
Bill,
I love your work!!! I can't go to the comic con cuz well, I have a baby. How else can I buy one??
Million thanks!!
Nancy
