Destination: France - Chapter 4

Thought I'd post a few of my favorite pages that Nate Wragg colored for the French Rex Steele edition. (Nate is better known for his 2-D Ratatouille work)

The Book is being published by Akileos, with a release date of December 6th I believe. You can find some more page samples HERE. The book will include a dvd of the animated short as well.

Marvelous stuff Bill!

I love the pure entertainment and appeal in your drawing. Deadman's Duel is really a topper to the previous Rex adventures, How do you get a still page to be that dynamic and alive?

It reads like storyboards for an animated cartoon... Is there a chance to see more animation with Rex in the future?
I'd love to see you direct a 2D feature with Alex Woo!

Hi Bill,

I love the way "A Deadman's Duel" looks - wonderful storytelling and compositions!
Did Akileos translate as well?

And before I forget, I still really enjoy the June "Fight Rex Fight" series on process and roughs.

Sounds like that'll be a nice collection.

I guess I'm still a little confused about the French version with the new stories. I have the original that I bought back in 2004(?). Is there going to be a new US release, colored, also with the new stories in English? I went back and read the old blog entries and comments and couldn't figure it out. Thanks.

The French version has the three stories that I drew from the original 2004 book, but it lacks the pinheaded goon story that Stephen DeStefano drew. However it does contain the two new stories that I've done since that volume was published, not to mention a new sketchbook section with a lot of previously unpublished drawings. There is an American version planned, but details about a publishing date are sketchy at this point.
